The Think Ox arrives in North America

The Norwegian electric car manufacturer TH! NK has recently announced a partnership with Rockport Capital and Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers to market its cars in North America.

Small company has big plans for only 1,200 cars TH! NK roll currently in Norway (where they are assembled). Unfortunately, I did not have figures for the rest of the EU, but I know that their assembly plant located to Aurskog, near Oslo will increase output to 10,000 units per year. This new cruise speed is reached in 2009.

TH! NK offers three models, including the third is a convertible version of the first. The TH! NK city offers itself as an ultra-compact city car. It can reach 100km / h in a distance of 180km but all in a mini format. This little car also has the distinction of being 95% recyclable! Perfect to replace the car of young urban adults, but I can not see myself using it with my three children ...

But where TH! NK offers a nice innovation is the model TH! NK Ox which will be full size, 5 passenger and trunk size standard. We do not know yet what will be its speed nor its autonomy, but TH! NK already has a partnership with the A123, which already manufactures several batteries of very high quality. Ox platform allows two standard batteries, two battery compartments of sodium for a low cost and long battery or batteries to flat Lithium ion batteries for cars more sporty. This platform is flexible and it would create several models derived for all types of applications.

For me, this car foreshadows the car of the future, as we shall see in a few years. Because for me the big cars will disappear.

Yes, it's a nice model, would just increase the ability of occupants and the power to reach 100km / h and over 300km away ...
